Review and Report

The ongoing monitoring of work techniques and results is a requirement for quality in the long term.

When assessing the work results, we differentiate between three main categories:

Design reviews and code reviews

The analysis and assessment of work results, such as specifications, design documents, source codes etc.

Technical assessment

Mechanical acquisition and statistical evaluation (statistic analysis) of complete software systems (source and object codes), in connection with, use of resources and performance. The goal is to reveal hidden trouble spots and evaluating technical optimization opportunities.

Methodical assessment

In connection with the technical assessment, the analytical main focus lies on the “engineering quality” and architecture, respectively. In addition, the operational reliability and maintainability are also evaluated.

A periodical repetition of the assessments, e.g. annually, makes the identification of trends (concerning software quality) possible and serves to monitor the execution of practices.

Using mechanical aid, big software systems are reliably assessed, hidden trouble spots are unveiled and the execution of practices is controllable.
